Though not dangerous (only a bit unsightly), moany folks who contact us want to know what causes cellulite and what can be done to prevent or remove it.
Cellulite is a collection of fat that is under the skin. Beneath the skin, everyone has fascia which is a type of connective tissue. Fascia and other components of connective tissue connect the dermis with the layers beneath the skin, either fat or muscle. This connective tissue forms little pockets under the skin. So long as there is no big fat accumulation, these little pockets remain flat.
When fat increases under the skin, it pushes outward and upward into those little pockets that are connected to deeper tissue inward and allow fat to be bulging outward toward the surface. Thus, you have this cottage cheese appearance so many people hate. It is not an illness and not to be confused with cellulitis, which is an inflammation of the connective tissue.
How Do You Get Cellulite?
It is a fairly common occurrence to be burdened with cellulite. All you have to do is gain more weight than your body was originally expecting. When fat cells swell up with too much content, it has to go somewhere. It pushes against the tissue with the least resistance and that is outward, toward the dermis. There really is no other way to get cellulite than by gaining weight. A certain familial or genetic predisposition may make you more susceptible to get the cellulite appearance on your skin.
Genetically, your connective tissue may be tighter bound to the muscle fascia and therefore you may have smaller pockets in which fat can collect making cellulite show quicker. You may just be genetically more prone to gain weight, which again works on the same principle of weight gain being the culprit of cellulite. Certain changes of hormone release into the blood during menopause will result in fat deposition. In anticipation of this event, certain precautions of diet and exercise can be established so you won’t be caught after the appearance of cellulite has already begun.
How Can Cellulite Be Prevented?
By keeping your body in good shape through exercise and proper diet, you will keep your weight within a reference the body can handle. So long as the connective tissue is not filled up and pushed outward, you will not have cellulite on your buttocks, thighs, abdomen and even arms. This can be helped by using a skin firming lotion. In short, weight control is the biggest preventative action you can take. Weight control is achieved by keeping your body within the proper weight for your height, gender and age. As soon as you notice a weight gain, start to be vigilant of your food choices, food intake, amount of sleep you get and daily exercise.
How Can Cellulite Be Treated?
Choosing the best cellulite lotion is a good start. Though controlling your weight and eating right (losing a little weight) is one of the best ways to lose dimpling, there are lotions that help hydrate the tissue and improve the firmness of the connective tissue – they go a long way towards treatment if used over extended periods.
The only natural treatment for cellulite is the same as for prevention: weight loss. The good thing is that cellulite can actually be minimized or even be eliminated by the effects of healthy living. The benefits of this approach are so much greater that just eliminating the appearance of unsightly marks on the body. They affect the better health of the entire body.
The invasive treatment is surgery. Liposuction will remove the filled fat cells through invasive procedures of sucking out the fat. By doing this, the little string connections will be torn from the deeper tissue. Consequently, if you gain weight again, the fat tissue outline that looked like cottage cheese will not look like that anymore and will be shaped differently.

What causes age spots? The cause of spotting, discoloration and dark spots can be explained by the assaults on skin from the natural elements, like the cumulative effect of sun exposure. The sun causes the increase in melanocytes in the skin, therefore darkening the skin tone. In general, this darkening is temporary and when removed from sun exposure, these melanocytes disappear and the suntan begins to fade. As people age, repair systems in the body do not perform at their optimum any longer. Some brown spots are left behind on sun exposed areas. The sun is not alone in getting the blame for age spots. The same damage you get from the sun, you can also get from tanning beds or tanning lamps.

Why Do People Get Age Spots?
This focuses more on the aging process itself. The older the body gets, the more work it had to do over the lifetime of the person to keep him healthy. This means that when potentially harmful material enters the body, lysosomes ingest the offending substances. This phagocytosis produces left-over “garbage” of brown pigmented, lipid-laden granules called lipofuscin. In itself, lipofuscin does no harm. It is only evidence of increased free radical formation in the body and decreased enzymatic action to neutralize the free radicals. With less neutralization of free radicals, there is less repair of sun damage and the affected skin has parts where melanocytes are permanently anchored.
Who Gets Age Spots?
Generally people over the age of forty are the ones to get these age spots, or liver spots as they used to be called. This was a misnomer, since the spots have no connection at all to the liver. The proper name for this condition is solar lentigo. Solar lentigines are mostly found on those body parts that are exposed to the sun’s ultraviolet rays. This makes sense, since the exposed areas are where the melanocytes are and where repair is necessary.
Are Age Spots Harmful?
The age spots themselves are not harmful at all. They are just a side effect of aging and can be treated with bleaching or whitening skin care products, with procedures and treatments or can be left alone and accepted. Actually, the agent of what causes age spots, the sun, is the harmful influence. The only problem in the presence of age spots is a cosmetic one. Ladies especially, like to have unblemished, even skin tones. Solar lentigines give a spotted look no one wants. These spots can be on the face, arms and hands. Sometimes they are present on legs as well. The back of the hands, arms and the face is where the most efforts to have them removed are concentrated.
Is There A Treatment For Age Spots?

Age Spots on the Face
In order to lighten age spots to make them faint enough to be hardly noticeable, age spot creams to bleach the affected area are available with a prescription. This is a time consuming process. It takes months to get the desired results. While under this treatment, skin must be protected with sun block since bleaching creams make the skin even more vulnerable to UV rays. Dermabrasions and chemical peels focus on removing the upper layer of the epidermis. This process includes removing the entire layer of skin along with the pigmented portions. It is a procedure that leaves the skin red and tender until a new skin layer grows. More expensive treatment possibilities are laser treatment and cryotherapy.

Research shows there is a better chance of green tea being applied to the skin (such as
green tea lotion) verses being

swallowed at which it might be able to prevent skin cancer. Research also shows that putting these chemicals into a lotion might work better at preventing skin cancer than using your everyday sun block. There have been numerous amounts of studies of skin benefits of green tea. Green tea appears to remove sun damage protection by quenching free radicals and minimizing inflammation rather than by blocking UV rays. Therefore, green tea may synergistically promote sun protection when used in combination to sunscreen.
What are some of the Green tea benefits? Green tea helps fight off the free radicals, free radicals are molecules that are missing an electron. In other words free radicals are oxygen that contain molecules that damage our DNA. Free radicals can form in ones skin for many different reasons, such as to much exposure to toxins. Patients who have been exposed to cancer have been treated with Green Tea, with its ability to fight cancer. Research is being preformed to see what types of cancer green tea will benefit and give the most promise too. Green tea has a high importance for us to live longer and healthier.
What about wrinkles, and other signs of aging? Could green tea lotion help? Considering the research that has been documented antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, and topical green tea applications are more likely to slow down the development of some signs of aging. Whether green tea lotion can actually diminish wrinkles is far more uncertain.

Considering all the evidence above I would say green tea can’t hurt ones well being. I would definitely say using green tea lotion would benefit a person and even taking green tea internally. Green tea has many benefits and these are just a few.
