The majority of women will get stretch marks a few times in there life. They are very common on the chest, upper legs, hip and butt area. The two most often time women will get stretch marks is during there teenage years while growing or during pregnancy. Men are prone to them as well usually around the stomach, arms and chest. Today we are going to talk about creams that contain ALA for stretch marks and why it is so important and what it can do to rid you of those marks forever.
Stretch marks are where the skin cannot stretch anymore and rips slightly. When this happens the fibrous tissue is damaged. These bonds are held together by collagen which your body can produce but it does take time. Some people are more likely to get stretch marks then others due to there genetic makeup. If you have lower than normal collagen levels then you are seven times more likely to develop them over time. A stretch mark is basically a form of scar, it does not have any follicles in it, sweat glands or oil glands. It is essentially a barren plane of skin.
When a stretch mark is new it looks like a bluish mark the older it gets the more it will fade. They essentially reshape the surface of the skin in areas. One good thing is they can be treated. Massaging a cream in the affected area containing ALA then massaging emu oil on afterward will carry the ALA down into the stretch mark evening it out and smoothing over troubled areas.
A microderm abrasion cream can also help even out skin tone and speed up collagen products just like ALA. These particles in the cream wear down spots in the skin causing your body to jump in and produce collagen to heal itself. Keep in mind the older stretch marks will be more stubborn then newer ones. Tanning is a good way to cover up the mark, but fading it is the only way to truly get rid of it.
Cream treatments are very common for stretch marks and have been shown to produce great results. The contain such ingredients as helps by causing skin cell to shed faster causing the skin to product new cells at a quicker than average rate. AHA is also used because it absorbs into the skin cell it acts as a bridge between your body and the active ingredients of the product.
Hydroxyacetic Acid also causes the skin to shed. It is one of the main ingredients in a chemical peel. These products help fade the scaring and produce new collagen to fix the mark itself. The most important ingredient in a stretch mark cream in our opinion is alpha-lipoic acid or ALA. ALA is a natural antioxidant and helps speed up skin production on a cellular level.
It does this by accelerating the healing process in the skin. It can also help make the mark smaller by reducing the inflammation in the scar itself. This is the equivalent of your skin getter resurfacing by a laser. It just takes a little longer. Once the marks start to fade keep using the cream until you cannot see them anymore. They should not come back once the disappear.
As many of us who aret familiar with the uses of Emu Oil know, treating wounds, laceration, scars and infection are at the top of the list of its benefits. “Down Below” Emu Oil is used religiously for many skin ailments – rashes, redness, and it is particulary successful treating burns – primarily due to its sanitizing anti-bacteria properties and its ability to help reduce swelling and inflammation.
Take a look at the video below. It is a summary of how this oil an work for healing scarring – whether from surgical procedures or accidents. Its a bit of a stretch to call it a “wonder oil”, but we have written about before and there are thousands of years of testimonials which corroborate its effectiveness. And, whether it’s old acne scars or minor scarring from orthoscopy, emu oil can work wonders.
The benefits of Emu Oil are far ranging – from very common use in hair products to skin care.
Emu Oil is what is known as a “carrier oil”. It has the ability to deeply penetrate the layers of the skin (and scalp) unlike many other oils such as Jojoba, Mineral or Argan. This penetrating property allows its healing abilities to treat common skin problems where they start – most often in the dermis layer of the skin.
It is a natural anti-bacterial making it ideal for treating burns, cuts, and wounds (even scars from surgery or injury). It is also an anti-inflammatory having the ability to reduce inflammation, irritation and to soothe itchy and redness.
The video below is a quick overview that discusses some of it’s benefits that include treating skin rashes, acne, abrasions, and stretch marks. It can be used by itself or combined with other lotions, creams and shampoos to generally improve efficacy of the product. There are a range of Emu Oil products available and you can find it as a key active ingredient in many high-end treatments.
Scarring resulting from acne or pregnancy is generally difficult to remove. Torn or damaged tissue is slow to rejuvenate and deep tearing from acne often requires treatment and laser resurfacing. With time many can be healed with proper skin products, the most successful procedure and treatment short of out-patient surgery, is to help prevent scars from occurring.
Pitting, discoloration and marks often occur (related to stretch marks) during periods of rapid weight gain. Most prominantly for women during pregnancy. Breasts, the abdomen and along the upper thighs are most prone – where ther greatest accumulation of fatty tissure resides.
For existing scars, using a microdermabrasion product has produced the greates results. Skin cell “turnover” and replenishment takes time. Encouraging new growth can often be accelerated by sloughing or polishing off old cells. With consistent use, disfigured or poorly aligned cells regenerate and rebuild normalized collagen and elastin fibers – necessary for skin pliability and absorption and retention of moisture.
Products with Hyaluronic Acid, soluble collagen, and Emu Oil have been found effective at working with microdermabrasion products for post-operative scarring (c section, plastic surgery, breast enhancement, et al), and work well smoothing and fading discoloration of potting left from severe acne and blemishes.
Scar creams and products help improve moisture content and retention stimulating healthy collagen growth. Emu Oil, in particular, has been used in Australia during pregnancy to help stave-off marking as prgnancy matures into the second and third trimester when stretching and tearing of dermal tissue is moste prominent.
